Are you an artist living in the East Mountain Area?

Mountain Gardens garden center is looking for artists who live in the surrounding area and want to show and sell their work in the community in which they live, grow, and love.

The Details

Mountain Gardens ArtFest 2012 is once again inviting artists to submit applications for the end of summer show. This year's date will be in August, the weekend of the 25th/26th.
Application/contracts will be available at Mountain Gardens (we will mail them on request), or artists may apply via email supplying the following information: complete name and mailing address, phone numbers, email, website (if applicable), and medium. Two examples of work if you're new to our show (photos--no slides, please). Note: our mailing address is PO Box 2548, Tijeras NM 87059.
We will give preference to artists working in fine art and craft mediums--paint, drawing, sculpture, fabric arts, photography, pottery--but we also try to fill all our spaces, so if you're handmaking soap or fine chocolate, please submit--we would love to have a booth with pastries or other consumables. Fees are not due until you're accepted and have signed the contract (conversely, spaces will not be held until the fee is paid).

We try for a wide range of artists, preferably from the local area, but again, we will fill all spaces.

Applications must be submitted by mid July. Artists who weren't with us last year must send two photos of their work, or bring samples to Mountain Gardens before this deadline. Artists will be notified by phone or email as soon as we make the decision (so early submissions are to the artists' advantage as well).

There is a $50.00 fee for the festival payable upon acceptance. Attendance is mandatory both days (we will consider extenuating circumstances--but our first consideration is making sure all spaces are filled both days--artists who leave early will not be invited back). This fee is non-refundable (as soon as the money comes in it will be going out for advertising, signage, etc. Mountain Gardens does not keep any money, and usually pays the prizes out of company funds.)

Booth spaces are 10x10. Artists must supply their own tents, tables, chairs, umbrellas, etc. Electricity is not available. Artists will be responsible for their own set-up and take down on both days. (Artists may drive in until about 9:30 when the parking area will be roped off.) Artists may sell their work, and take commissions for work, and will be responsible for all taxes.
